Economic burden of stroke in malaysia: results from national neurology registry

      Background: Stroke is the third leading cause of mortality in Malaysia with 5.9% increase in premature death from 2005 to 2015. It remains one of the major public health problems worldwide. Local ischemic stroke incidence increases annually by 29.5% and hemorrhagic stroke by 18.7%. With increasing number of stroke patients, the cost of stroke management is most likely to rise.
